Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update is rolling out to Galaxy Note 4 units of Verizon Wireless. The update comes via firmware over-the-air which started since last August. On the other hand, Android 5.1.1 update is also rolling out to Samsung Galaxy Note 4 units of Sprint.
The mobile carrier Sprint started rolling out the Android update since last September 3. The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop over-the-air update brings the solution to the Stagefright vulnerability threat. According to Fortune, this flaw has affected about 95% of the Android phones.
The Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update will come in phases. This means that the update will come to some devices on a later date. If notified by the Sprint or Verizon for the update, click 'Install Now.' and follow onscreen instructions.
The Lollipop update features improvements in device syncing, device sharing, notification controls and Material Design.
If the search giant Google has not released the Android 5.1.1 update yet, you can go for manual downloading.
Step 1. Head to Settings from app tray or pull down menu.
Step 2. Choose More.
Step 3. Choose About Device.
Step 4. Choose Software Update.
Step 5. Follow onscreen instructions.
Galaxy Note 4 users have to make sure that their handset is connected to a Wi-Fi and registered to a Google account. They can also download using Samsung Kies and USB cable.
Step 1. Connect the handset to personal computer using the USB cable.
Step 2. Now Open Samsung Kies.
Step 3. To start installation of the Lollipop update, click Firmware upgrade.
Step 4. Then, follow onscreen instructions.
