Good news to Moto Droid Turbo users as the handset will reportedly receive the upcoming Android M Marshmallow operating system next month coinciding with the release of Droid Turbo 2.
Google's former mobile division, Motorola, has a good reputation in releasing new Android OS as soon as it gets its hands on the software. According to International Business Times, the first generation of Moto Droid Turbo is among Motorola smartphones that will get the sweet taste of the new Android M.
There are speculations that the OS update will arrive in October as the successor of the handset, Moto Droid Turbo 2015 that is also dubbed as Droid Turbo 2, is slated for release
HelloMotoHK previously posted alleged images of the DROID Turbo 2015. The back panel of the device is quite similar to Moto X Play and will most likely be made with the same materials. The image also showed a back camera and flash.
The handset sports a metal frame with the Qi Wireless charging coil visible on the inside of the handset's back cover, which is similar to last year's Motorola DROID Turbo. Other features of the handset are remained unknown.
Apart from leaked images, Droid-Life reported that a new DROID handset may be coming soon citing a device seen in FCC. Based on the said document, the new DROID handset will support turbo charging, 802.11ac MiMo WiFi, LTE Advanced, as well as US LTE bands outside of Verizon's.
While Moto DROID Turbo 2015 features have not been announced yet, it is claimed that the handset will come with octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 430 chip.
