A recently concluded experiment revealed that of all the top smartphone in the market Asus ZenFone 2 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 rose to the top when it comes to charging their phone faster the others.
Tech website Tom's Guide conducted the battery-charging experiment and picked up seven flagship smartphones from well-known manufacturer. These phones are Asus ZenFone 2, Google Nexus 6, OnePlus 2, Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4, Motorola Droid Turbo and the Apple iPhone 6.
Tom's Guide first drained each phone's battery down to five percent and plugged them into their charger and takes their battery percentage at certain interval; after five minutes, after 15 minutes and after 30 minutes. The website also took data regarding which phone charges fastest to 80 and 100 percent battery life.
After five minutes of charging each phone, the ZenFone 2 led the bunch with 17 percent battery life. Nexus 6 and OnePlus 2 tied in second with 12 percent battery life. The Galaxy S6, LG G4 and Droid Turbo shared the third spot with 11 percent battery life. While the iPhone 6 clocked in last place with only 6 percent battery life.
Thirty minutes of charging and the Galaxy S6 quickly gained traction sharing the first spot with the Asus ZenFone 2 at 53 percent battery life. The Nexus 6 and LG G4 recorded 44 and 42 percent battery life, respectively. The Droid Turbo recorded 38 percent battery life while the iPhone 6 recorded 36 percent battery life. The OnePlus 2 lagged in last place after 30 minutes with just 34 percent battery life.
In terms of reaching 80 percent battery life, the Galaxy S6 came on top with just 48 minutes charging time followed by the ZenFone 2 with 56 minutes charging time. The Nexus 6 took one hour to reach 80 percent battery life while the LG G4 clocked one hour and two minutes. The Droid Turbo clocked one hour and twelve minutes, the Apple iPhone clock one hour and 15 minutes. The OnePlus 2 came in last taking the smartphone one hour and 25 minutes to charge its way to 80 percent.
The 100 percent battery life mark made some interesting twist. The Samsung Galaxy S6 still tops every device clocking one hour and 22 minutes to be fully charged. The LG G4 came in second taking it one hour and 36 minutes. The Droid Turbo placed third taking it one hour and 47 minutes. The ZenFone 2 and Nexus 6 tied at fourth with one hour and 49 minutes charging time. The OnePlus 2 took two hours and 10 minutes to fully charge while the Apple iPhone 6 came in last taking it two hours and 35 minutes.
Despite the interesting charging time it took each phone to reach 100 percent, there are some factors that came into play most notably each device's battery capacity. According to Tech Spot, the Asus ZenFone 2 recorded the best charging time if battery capacity is added into the equation.
