Huawei Mate S contains the much talked about Force Touch, which is similar to Apple iPhone's 3D touch. Reportedly, it can take the weight of an object.
Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has beaten Apple's own unveiling of its iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, which also contains a similar feature called 3D Touch. Huawei Mate S is technically holding the title as the first phone to have a Force Touch capability.
Huawei Mate S has three models, the Standard, Premium and Luxury. All were launched at the recently concluded IFA 2015 in Berlin, but among the three, it is only the Luxury model that contains the "pressure sensing" technology, Pocket-Lint reported.
Huawei Mate S Luxury edition's pressure sensing features as a weighing scale. Users can weigh in any object from 100 grams up to 400 grams. They weighed an orange fruit during the IFA conference and it read 280 grams.
Force touch feature can also allow the users to hide all the normal navigation choices seen normally, and simply perform a hard or light touch to pull them up. Users now have the ability to hide a number of icons from the homescren which translates to a home screen free of clutter, Mobile Choice reported.
Another direct application of the "pressure sensing" feature for the Huawei Mate S is, users can zoom into the screen by simply pressing the screen. A hard press will have a bigger increments in zooming while a soft press zooms an image a little bit at a time.
Huawei Mate S is the first device to fully maximize this feature. This "pressure sensing" feature has been supported by the Android OS since version 2.0 during Ecclair.
