Toyota is finally launching their fourth generation, Toyota Prius 2016. The newest model is supported with a brand new look and breaking eco benchmark record on its release at Toyota's media event in Las Vegas.
According to Autoexpress, though the company holds full confidentiality of the details, it has been confirmed that the Prius 2016 is the very first model to feature (Toyota New Global Architecture) TNGA. Toyota engineers were allowed to develop a clean-sheet hybrid drivetrain which is economical and with CO2 emissions to around 90mpg and 70g/km. This has been tested as the better fuel saver.
With the TNGA bones, the latest model is more responsive to drive. Its new double-wishbone rear suspension and TNGA's higher rigidity make the car more comfortable to ride.
Toyota is surely getting an exceptional innovation hence they never stop, the company plans on offering an even more eco-friendly car. The company aims to create more fuel-efficient functionalities on the later models and will have an upgraded battery packs, Automobile reported.
2016 Toyota Prius showcases a 1.8-liter petrol engine which is believed to be 10 percent better at gas mileage. With its e "e-4WD" technology and four-cylinder-engine/CVT combo makes it up to 150 horsepower and offers up to forty percent thermal efficiency. The battery base is made of high-density nickel metal hydride with the lithium-ion upgrade.
2016 Prius model is 0.8-inch lower than the previous model but is wider by 0.6 inches and longer by 2.4 inches. The model has a bigger interior space and better cargo room.
