Apple is set to introduce iOS 9 for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod devices on Sept. 16, 2015. This new update will focus more on speed and performance rather than the look and feel of the interface.
However, iOS 9 will bring along some new features on your Apple device. For iPads, there is multitasking and split-screen view. iPhones get News aggregator app and Apple Pay.
iOS 9 - How To Download And Install The New Apple OS
There two ways you can download and install iOS 9 on your compatible Apple device.
First is OTA or Over-The-Air update: To update your device using this method, go to Settings, click General and click Software Update. You might have to try this again and again and you might get lucky to get the update in the first batch on Sept. 16, 2015.
Second is using iTunes, you can connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod to your iTunes on PC using the USB cable. When you find your device in iTunes, you have to click Check for Update. You will get a notification if an update is available for your device.
Things To Take Care Before Installing iOS 9
Before you get ready to download and install iOS 9, there are certain things that you can take care of. You can delete any unwanted messages and call logs from your phone. Also, you can take backup of your music, photos and videos or iCloud or on your computer. It is always advised to take backup before any OS update.
It is also advised that if you can wait for a day or two after the release of iOS 9 as the servers might go down leading to delay in upgrade.
