The torrent of leaks on Google's Nexus 2015 flagships continue to flow in as the rumored release date of the devices nears. The latest word indicates that the LG Nexus 5 2015 will unpack with a boosted camera that will outshoot iPhone 6S while the Huawei Nexus 6 2015 appears to outpace its predecessor - the Motorola Nexus 6.
Thanks to Android Police, Nexus fans now have a clue of the shooting prowess packed with the LG Nexus 5 second edition, also known at the moment as the Nexus 5X. The blog report tinkered with the beta build of the upcoming native Android camera application that will take the official name Google Camera version 3.0.
Among the app features revealed are Creations, Photo Booth and Group Smiles, which Android Police discussed in length on its piece. But what interests the most is the function that Google dubbed as SmartBurst.
SmartBurst, the report said, is "a feature that intelligently captures interesting moments and a GIF and a collage." It's interesting to note that in introducing the iPhone 6S earlier this month, Apple demoed an iOS 9 camera function that behaves in the same way and the produces the same result. The tech giant called the fresh 6S camera feature as Live Photos.
And it looks like that the Nexus 2015 will showcase the same capability right out of the box.
In order to access the feature, users will only need to "hold down the capture button in the rear-facing camera for as long as you'd like," according to Google.
As for the Huawei Nexus 6 2015, the latest information on the device further supports the notion that it is the premium of the Nexus 2015 models. In a new report, MyDrivers claims that it obtained a new Geekbench results featuring a comparison of the Motorola Nexus 6 and a device called Nexus Angler that everyone assumes is the Huawei Nexus 6 2015.
For one, the document hinted that the bigger of the Nexus 2015 is powerhouse that is fired by the combo of 8-core Snapdragon 810 - spinning at top speed of 1.55GHz - and 3GB of RAM. This same engine pumped up the Huawei Nexus 6 to perform with gusto, registering Geekbench scores of 1188 in single-core tests and 4285 in multi-core.
What is remarkable is the indication that compared to what Motorola Nexus 6 had returned during the tests, the Huawei Nexus emerged as the runaway winner. The Nexus 6 of 2014 only managed measly scores of 679 in single-core and 1861 in multi-core.
The result suggests that Google has a beastly contender that is raring to let out in the coming fee weeks. Aside from its monsters abilities, the Huawei Nexus 6 2015 is also billed with premium qualities with its supposed metal-clad finish highlighting the flagship status. The LG Nexus 5 2015, on the other hand, is packaged as the sub-flagship option with the tandem of Snapdragon 808 chip and 2GB of RAM powering the vanilla Android handset.
Running the Google Nexus 2015 show is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which according to numerous report, will be unveiled on September 29 and likely to be followed by the two Nexus phones release date starting on October 13.
