The Pokemon Company has shed some light on the dragon-ground Kalos legendary Pokemon Zygarde and the science behind its multiple forms.
According to the official Pokemon website, Zygarde's development starts with the Zygarde Cell. The stage has been determined as individual units that form Zygarde's entirety and they are found scattered throughout the Kalos region. Since these Zygarde Cells do not have any thought processes or moves, researchers are baffled whether Zygarde's building blocks can even be called Pokemon.
The next level is the Zygarde Core. It is said that this Zygarde unit is "little more than a part" of Zygarde's brain, which suggests their capabilities to elicit mental processes. In contrary to the Zygarde Cells, Zygarde Cores are aware of themselves and are able to communicate with other Cores using telepathy. They respond to a change in the ecosystem of the local region.
The gathering of 10 percent of the Cells near Zygarde Cores will lead to the rise of Zygarde 10% Forme. Resembling a dog, Zygarde 10% Forme is capable of traveling more than 60 mph (100 km/hr). It uses its piercing fangs and its farfetched speed in taking down its foes.
Next to Zygarde 10% Forme is Zygarde 50% Forme, which was the Zygarde Forme that was initially introduced to Pokemon fans. The 50 percent of the cells in its structure is the basis for its name and it been said that it watches over the local ecosystem.
When the Core gathers 100 percent of the cells, Zygarde Complete Forme will rise. Serving as Zygarde's perfect Forme, it is taken on by the Core when Zygarde 50% Forme is incapable on dealing threats to the ecosystem. In addition, it has been said that its power is greater than that of its legendary counterparts Xerneas and Yveltal.
With the introduction of Zygarde's new Formes, Pokemon developers will be able to create new storylines for the anime and the most awaited "Pokemon Z." While it has not yet been revealed whether "Pokemon Z" is in the works, fans and gamers expect that the said game will be announced in a matter of time, as per Nintendo Life.
Meanwhile, Zygarde and its multiple forms are assumed to appear in the upcoming "Pokemon XY & Z" television series, which is slated to premiere on Oct. 29 in Japan. Watch the new "Pokemon XY & Z" anime trailer here:
