Japanese auto manufacturer Suzuki recently unveiled the new Suzuki Baleno supermini at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. The hatchback from Suzuki is known for its larger B-segment. The car is set to be released in summer of 2016.
According to Auto Express, the Baleno is a larger and more family friendly alternative to the Swift, which is set to be released in spring of 2016. Experts believe that Suzuki is priming the Baleno to eventually replace the Swift in the future.
By comparison, the Baleno is larger to the Swift. The Baleno is 3995mm long which is 100mm longer than the Swift. It is 1,745mm wide and 1,470mm tall.
Suzuki also claims that the new Baleno is the most practical car on the B-segment market. The car boasts the new Suzuki 1.0-liter Booster jet turbo petrol engine. The new engine has a reported power output of 110 horsepower and a torque of 170 pounds per feet. The car is available in either a six-speed auto transmission or a five-speed manual transmission.
Not much was changed on the interior design of the new Suzuki Baleno. However, Suzuki made some changes on the car's dashboard. The company added that it will offer an optional seven-inch touchscreen monitor. The basic edition of the car will feature an LCD display located at the center of the instrument panel.
Suzuki also said that it plans to upgrade the car's infotainment features by adding support for Apple CarPlay.
According to Auto Car, the new Suzuki Baleno will hit the European market in the spring of 2016. Suzuki has yet to release the cars full specs list as well as official pricing.
