Real Madrid has been quiet in the recent summer transfer window except for the acquisition of goalkeeper Kiko Casilla from RCD Espanyol last July. Notable departures are that of midfielder Xavi and resident goalie Iker Casillas.

Manager Rafael Benitez is reportedly set to make Real play a more prominent role when the winter window opens this January as the club allegedly plans to take offers for Karim Benzema, Isco, Gareth Bale, and even crowd-favorite Cristiano Ronaldo.

Benitez also has a few targets in his sight including failed summer transferee Manchester United's David De Gea.

All these are mere speculations and here are a few more of the latest transfer rumors about Los Blancos.

Real set to rival Chelsea over John Stones in January if Man United target Raphael Varane leaves: Benitez is reportedly "concerned" that the 22-year-old center back may end up at the Old Trafford next year and so he wants Chelsea target John Stones to be his replacement.

The 21-year-old central defender is considered as one of the best in the world right now at his position and the Toffees may not be able to keep him in January as they did last summer.

Chelsea is the prime contender for his services, but Real is not far behind. Verdict: Fact.

Denis Cheryshev wants out of Bernabéu: The 24-year-old Russian winger is rumored to be unhappy with his place at Benitez's rotation as of the moment.

He is buried deep within a midfield composed of Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Isco, and Mateo Kovacic, and there seems to be no way he can penetrate the first team.

Real wants him to sign a new contract, but he reportedly elects to be transferred to either Liverpool or Arsenal if given the opportunity. Verdict: Fact.
