Ford along with Shelby American recently announced that they will release a new model of the Ford Shelby GT that will feature the 2016 Mustang GT350 EcoBoost engine.
The Shelby Mustang is a well-known brand that only use V8 engines. However, the latest announcement from Ford means that the company is beginning to appreciate the EcoBoost engine.
The EcoBoost engine will surely attract environment conscious car enthusiast. The unprecedented rise in the price of gas also plays a major factor when considering engine type. V8's are well-known not only for its power but also its gas consumption.
According to The Standard Daily, the new Mustang is aimed for non-US markets. The car is expected to debut at the Goodwood Revival festival in the United Kingdom.
The exterior of the new Shelby Mustang is made mostly of carbon fiber. Most notable of this design is the car's front splitter, rear, spoiler, hood and the rocker panel. The car also sports a bigger 20-inch wheels and uses a Michelin Pilot Sport 275-35zr20 tires which promises better handling.
The new Mustang also features the BoostMax and PedalMax upgrades. The car sports a highly upgraded BORLA exhaust system and a break horsepower of up to 335. Additional feature includes the 5-point harnesses, short-throw shifter and racing seats. The new Mustang also sports the ubiquitous racing stripes that has been a staple ever since, according to Gazette Tribune.
The base model of the new Mustang GT will have a price tag of $23, 995 and will be sold on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Shelby promised that it will release more information about the new Mustang in the days to come.
