And the Google invites are out that largely confirms a September 29 event will be staged in San Francisco. Expected to take of the show is Google CEO Sundar Pichai and he has tons of unloading to make, reports say.
Pundits are watching out for these four key revelations:
Android 6.0 Marshmallow will become official
The Android Lollipop will soon come to an end as it has to make way for Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the countdown has commenced. Much have been revealed about the new Google mobile operating system but gaining most of the attention are Android Pay and the software's native support for biometrics, starting with fingerprint reader.
Marshmallow will also introduce a powerful toll dubbed as Doze, which Google said is a power management tool that will significantly reduce device energy usage.
But the one thing that really excites about the OS formerly known as Android M is its vanilla form, purportedly to be showcased via the Google Nexus 2015 flagships, leading us to the next topic.
Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P
In the coming days, the general term Nexus 2015 will soon fade out and in its stead will be the official names of Google's two hero phones this year. According to Droid Life, the codename Nexus Bullhead and Nexus Angler are true but for commercial purposes the labelling will be altered with Nexus 5X for the LG-made handset and Nexus 6P for the Huawei-supplied model.
Most of the circulating rumors about the two smartphones are accurate, the report added. The Nexus 5X is said to be mostly patterned after the LG Nexus 5 of 2013 and will unpack with a 5.2-inch 1080p screen display with the power generated by the duo of Snapdragon 808 and 2GB of RAM. The shooting system consists of 12MP sensor on rear and 5MP on front.
The Nexus 6P, on the other hand, is a 5.7-inch monster that will boast of 2K display resolution. Firing up the kit is the tandem of Snapdragon 810 chip with 3GB of RAM. The camera system is a main shooter with 12MP sensor while the secondary is a selfie delight at 8MP.
Reports say the 5X name reflects the edgy character of the LG Nexus 5 2015 while the 6P represents Pure Android and Premium device rolled into one. Both, as already advertised, will be brought into life by Android Marshmallow.
Bonus - Chromecast gets huge bump
It is likely too that Pichai will uncloak the latest Chromecast edition as Google is obviously taking seriously the upcoming and revamped Apple TV. Google's entertainment stick will hit the market with upgraded software so fresh capabilities should be expected, 9to5Google said in a new report.
One of the new Chromecast elements will be called Chromecast Audio or Hendrix, obviously taking after the rock icon Jimi Hendrix. The basic service involves straightforward music streaming and the ability to plug the stick, which 9to5Google said will have a new look, to any audio machine that can take in a 3.5mm jack.
