With the Cowboys missing Dez Bryant due to injury, things are looking gloomy for the team. However, there is hope yet that their rookie, Randy Gregory, who was reported to be out 4-6 weeks due to an injury in the opening game, will return sooner than expected.
The rumor has it that Gregory will return within the next 2 weeks.
Marcus Mosher tweeted that "Sounds like Randy Gregory has a "minor" high ankle sprain. Won't play this week, but there is a chance he returns in the next week or two."
Nick Eatman also predicted that Gregory will be back by the ATL game as well.
Gregory is a player that is sorely needed by the Cowboys, especially considering new signing Greg Hardy is not eligible to play until the 5th week.
The Cowboys had originally hoped that Gregory could fill Hardy's role until Hardy can return, but with his injury it seemed like the Cowboys would be out of luck.
This is great news for the Dallas Cowboys, who also reportedly did not put Bryant on the injured list. They are hoping that their players come back early and fully healthy so that Tony Romo won't have to carry the team all by himself.
Gregory's injury, which is a high ankle sprain, usually takes a short time to heal. Last season Jamaal Charles was diagnosed with the same injury and only missed one week. While the Cowboys may be undermanned against rival Phildelphia Eagles (who now have DeMarco Murray), it seems like they won't be undermanned for long.
