Nextbit's innovative cloud-focused Robin smartphone is getting a limited-time discount for Verizon subscribers. The limited-offer will slash down as much as $50 on top of the smartphone's price tag.
According to PC Mag, starting 1PM E.T. on Sept 19, the first 300 United States residents to place an order will be able to get their hands on a Verizon-compatible Nextbit Robin for only $299. Once the first 300 slots are filled, the price will go back to the original $349 tag.
The Nextbit Robin will be released with a 32GB internal storage space and a massive 100GB cloud storage space. By integrating the phone into the cloud, the device automatically transfers unused phone content to the cloud to make space for more important data on the phone's native storage.
To save on battery and data consumption, the Robin only transfer files from its local storage to the cloud when the phone is charging and on a Wi-Fi network.
The Nextbit Robin project was funded via a Kickstarter campaign. The campaign has already doubled its initial $500,000 goal and still has 12 days left.
The phone is current available in two color variants; Mint and Midnight. On the other hand, Nextbit is encouraging the community to create more design, according to The Verge. Interested designers can submit their color via Twitter, Instagram or the Kickstarter comment section. Nextbit said that users should add the hashtag #RobinColor or tag @nextbitsys in order to make sure that their entries will not be lost.
Entries will be accepted until 3PM E.T. on Sept. 24. After that, Nextbit will choose five entries and present it on Sept. 28 for open voting until Sept. 30. The winner will be announced on the same day that the Nextbit Robin's Kickstarter campaign will close.
