Modern fairy tale series "Once Upon a Time" will finally explore LGBT relationships in its fifth season, and the fictional drama's fans are speculating about the "Swan Queen" relationship finally coming true.
Taking place on the fictional town of Storybrooke, "Once Upon a Time" reveals the story about the town's residents who are actual characters from fairy tales who have no recollection of their real memories and was sent to the real world.
When asked about the possibility of the LGBT theme in the series' new season, executive producers of the show revealed that the topic is something that they want to tackle for the fairy tale drama's new season. According to Entertainment Weekly, the executive producer Adam Horowitz stressed that the show wanted to reflect today's world with the LGBT.
In addition, fellow producer Edward Kitsis stressed that the drama's team are aware of that LGBT community members are "Once Upon a Time" supporters and the series' production team would love to focus on an LGBT love story.
While they revealed their plans for the LGBT plot, the two producers refused to identify which characters would be in the said relationship. According to Bustle, speculations about which LGBT couple would finally have their chance to make their affair happen.
Among those speculations, the characters of warrior Mulan and princess Aurora are being paired up. In previous season, the unrequited feelings of the warrior were apparent; however, the princess remained happy expecting her baby with Prince Phillip.
Despite the princess' happy relationship, the television series' fans asserted that there is still a possibility that the circumstances may change just like any real-life relationships.
In addition to the Mulan-Aurora pairing, "Once Upon a Time" supporters also rooted for the "Swan Queen" pair to finally have their own relationship. The couple comprises of the investigator Emma Swan and Queen Regina who fans observed were having an attraction toward each other.
Meanwhile, ABC will air "Once Upon a Time" Season 5's episode premiere "The Dark Swan" on Sept. 27, Sunday at 8 p.m.
