The CW TV series "Supernatural" is set to return with new storylines, characters and villains that the Winchester brothers will deal with in season 11. However, the main focus of the upcoming new season will be on the big pre-biblical threat called the Darkness that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) released in the previous season's finale episode.
According to Hypable, the CW Network has released the official synopsis of "Supernatural" Season 11 premiere episode titled "Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire." In the premiere episode, the synopsis teased that the Winchester brothers will face their biggest threat ever.
The CW TV series will immediately pick up where the previous season's finale episode left off. Sam and Dean must deal with the Darkness that has been unleashed after the Mark of Cain was removed from Dean's arm.
Death (Julian Richings) explained to Dean that the Mark of Cain is the lock to the prison of the Darkness. Death further revealed that the ancient evil God has locked away a long time ago will be released if the Mark of Cain is removed without being imparted.
"Supernatural" cast members Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles shared to The Hollywood Reporter that they are both excited to see their on-screen characters finally on the same page in the upcoming new season after being in conflict with each other in the past seasons of the CW TV series.
Padalecki thinks the fans are going to love watching Sam and Dean face the Darkness together head-on in "Supernatural" Season 11. Ackles shared that he and Padalecki have fun in portraying the lighter side of Sam and Dean's relationship after being in the dark for some time.
Meanwhile, "Supernatural" executive producer Jeremy Carver teased at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con that the new season will have an epic feel with the pre-biblical Darkness as the new big bad villain. Carver further teased that a couple of fan-favorite characters will return in a surprising way in "Supernatural" Season 11.
As for the other "Supernatural" characters in the premiere episode, the synopsis teased that the angel Castiel (Misha Collins) will recall his brutal showdown with the demon Crowley (Mark Sheppard) as he deals with the effects of the "Attack Dog Spell" that Crowley's witch mother Rowena (Ruth Connell) placed on him in the previous season's finale episode. "Supernatural" Season 11 will premiere on Wednesday night, Oct. 7, at 9/8c on the CW Television Network.
