Michelle Obama and her daughters, Sasha Obama and Malia Obama, wowed the world as they welcomed Pope Francis on his arrival in Washington on Sept. 22, Tuesday.
Michelle was accompanying her husband and United States President Barack Obama as Pope made his first visit to the country since 2008. The first family was present on the tarmac of Joint Base Andrews outside Washington when the plane landed.
The first lady was seen beaming in a belted powder blue dress with a cowl neck. The lady, who is known for her impeccable fashion sense and seems to know exactly what to wear for different occasions, wore her lob styled in loose waves with soft eyeshadow and a pale pink lip.
The girls also apparently took time off school to greet the 78-year-old religious leader. The teenagers, who were on past occasions seen wearing shorter, more casual styles, chose to sport a more formal and elegant style.
While Malia looked stunning in a short-sleeved black top with a coordinating graphic print skirt that fell below the knee, Sasha was sporting a pleated color block skirt by Kate Spade, Daily Mail reported.
It seems that the Obama sisters have come a long way from being wide-eyed kids to elegant young women who have ditched hoodies and jumpers for more feminine printed dresses and ballet flats.
Over the years, the emerging style of the two girls, especially self-assured Malia who is already in senior years and will be entering college soon, have been closely followed by the whole world. Barely at the age of 16, her clothing choices are now dissected closely on fashion sites.
Meanwhile, President Obama is reportedly freaked out that his daughter will be soon entering college. Speaking at Macomb County Community College in Warren, Mich., on Sept. 9, POTUS declared that he had to fight back tears when his daughter reminded him recently that she will be leaving for college soon, Us Weekly reported.
