"Days of Our Lives" star Kassie DePaiva was reportedly axed from the NBC series after playing the role of Eve for an entire year.
On Sunday, DePaiva penned a lengthy explanation on her website on why NBC and the creators of "Days of Our Lives" decided to axe her after just one year of being on the hit daytime soap opera.
"As the sand runs out of my hourglass over at 'Days...' I have no regrets. I had a truly remarkable experience there. From the beginning as Eve showed up in town and throughout her bumpy ride through Salem it has all been a good time for me," she wrote.
On her post, DePaiva confirmed that she was let go by the network. However, she did not reveal the actual reason why this happened.
"It saddens me to have been let go from the show just as Eve was finally finding her footing. But that is the way the soap opera business goes. Characters come and go just as actors, writers, and producers. But fortunately for all of us the stories still go on," she said.
According to TV Guide, DePaiva will still be portraying her role in the upcoming episodes of "Days of Our Lives." The actress will also be part of the soap opera's upcoming Christmas special episode.
As of late, it is still unclear whether or not her character will be killed off from the NBC series.
"Days of Our Lives" airs weekdays at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.
