The San Diego Chargers (1-1) hope to bounce back from a Week 2 loss as they battle the Minnesota Vikings (1-1) at their home field of TCF Bank Stadium on Sunday.
San Diego dropped a close 24-19 game versus the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday at the Paul Brown Stadium despite a momentous game from quarterback Philip Rivers.
Rivers made history by throwing 22 straight completions in the course of two games to tie for the third most in league history. It was also the Chargers' completion record as he also surpassed Dan Fouts for most career touchdown passes after he had two in the game, via ESPN.
The Vikings snatched their first win of the season against the winless Detroit Lions, 26-16, at home also last Sunday.
Former league MVP Adrian Peterson had a great game compiling 134 rushing yards in 29 carries for the game with 25 yards as the longest, as per Yahoo Sports.
With Rivers, San Diego is expected to rely on its passing game on offense. However, head coach Mike McCoy should be wary of their defense who had recently struggled to stop elite running backs.
Minnesota and Peterson may take advantage of that weakness in this game, but the Chargers will still prevail.
Prediction: Chargers win, 21-17
