While the Oculus Virtual Reality (VR) Rift headset is schedule to be unveiled in early 2016, the $99 Samsung Gear VR will be shipped worldwide in November of this year. The new VR device is over one-fifth lighter than the Gear VR Innovator Edition, making it more portable through Samsung smartphones.
Gear VR runs with many handsets. They include Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+, and Note 5.
Samsung also announced that the new VR headset includes an upgraded touchpad. This provides better control for gaming, movies, and 360-degree videos.

Rift will run on the Oculus Ready PC Program. Computer manufacturers such as Dell and Asus will offer Oculus-Ready PCs with a sticker showing their compatibility with Oculus Rift. The CPUs will have a price tag under $1,000.
