Now Android users can install Android Pay from the Google Play Store into their mobile devices and use it for easy payments.
Users can download the latest feature from the Google Play Store and use it for seamless payments.
Google has been trying to figure out a popular way to introduce payment services for the Android users since a long time. Google Wallet was introduced sometime back, but it did not gain any momentum, forcing Google to take it down. Apple Pay soon rose to its high fame, making Google Wallet a distant memory for the world.
However, it seems that Google is all set to bounce back with its Android Pay feature. This will be an NFC-enabled service which will be available for Android versions 4.4.4 and up, according to Slash Gear. This service is independent of the mobile network carrier.
The users will just need to find a tap and pay location, and they will be good to use this feature. Android Pay is pretty easy to use. The preferred cards' information needs to be stored in the app, and that is pretty much it. The tap and pay service of Android Wallet is seamless and simple, requiring only a minimal input from the user.
The only major concern regarding Android Pay at the moment is that most of the Android devices are still not equipped with a finger print scanner. This will make the process of tap and pay a bit longer, as the users will need to verify their purchases through the 4 digit pins, instead of swiping their finger on the fingerprint scanner. Android Marshmallow, which is due to release next month, is bringing along the native support for finger print scanning. This might fix this obstacle for the time being.
Android Pay supports all major debit and credit cards, including American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Gift cards, loyalty cards, and membership cards can also be used through this app.
