Rapper Aaron Dontez Yates better known as Tech N9ne described his "Speedom (WWC2)" collaborator Eminem as an extreme lyricist in a recent interview.
While discussing the 1999 hit song "Wake Up Show Anthem" by Sway and King Tech, Tech N9ne told City Pages he was happy to be with extreme lyricists like Sway, King Tech and the "Rap God" rapper.
Also featuring Xzibit, RZA, KRS-One, Chino XL, Kool G Rap, Pharoahe Monch and Jayo Felony, "Wake Up Show Anthem" marked Eminem and Tech N9ne's first collaboration song. It took six years before they collaborated again in "Speedom (WWC2)."
Featuring Eminem and Krizz Kaliko, "Speedom (WWC2)" features Eminem is from Tech N9ne's 15th studio album "Special Effects," which was released on May 4 by Strange Music.
According to Tech N9ne, it was during the "Wake Up Show Anthem" project when he first shook hands with Eminem face-to-face. He said he and the Detroit rapper always had a good vibe.
Tech N9ne said when he went to the video set of "Wake Up Show Anthem," he was coming in while the "Rap God" rapper was coming out. He also revealed that it was King Tech who came to him in his apartment in Northridge, Calif., to tell him he wanted him to be on "Wake Up Show Anthem."
In other news, Anderson Paak recently talked about Dr. Dre's "Medicine Man." Dr. Dre's "Medicine Man" featuring Paak, Eminem and Candice Pillay is from the "Compton: A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre" album.
Paak revealed to MTV News that the "Medicine Man" beat had to be structured around the "Rap God" rapper's verse, which was just out of control.
