Manchester United's bid for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale had been given a boost as the Bernabéu giants expressed readiness to sell the Wales international in the January or next summer transfer window to get their hands on new Galactico target Eden Hazard of Chelsea.
Caught Offside indicated that Los Blancos president Florentino Perez "would consider an offer of £110 million" to release Bale, which would make it the new world football transfer record. The 26-year-old Cardiff native also currently holds the record at £85.3 million when he moved to Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.
Entering his third season in the Spanish capital, Bale has proven himself reliable, scoring 41 goals in 96 appearances so far for Los Merengues, making him one of Louis van Gaal's primary targets every transfer window.
The winter window may bring new life to the Red Devils as Perez is said to be keen on buying England's Player of the Year, Hazard, and he knows that in order to pull that off the organization must sell some of their in-demand players.
Aside from Bale, Perez is also open to selling Cristiano Ronaldo for the same price, as per the Sunday Times. United and Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in acquiring the Portuguese captain as well.
The last five world transfer records were made by Real Madrid since the turn of the new century. It is anticipated that once either Bale or Ronaldo is sold, Los Vikingos may probably beat their own record again in signing Hazard.
It is still unknown whether Chelsea would agree to part ways with their 24-year-old winger, however.
