Jennifer Lawrence wanted to play Bella Swan in the "Twilight" movie franchise but lost to Kristen Stewart. "The Hunger Games" star revealed that she auditioned for the role but the producers decided to cast Robert Pattinson's ex-girlfriend.
According to Movie Pilot, Lawrence was surprised when she saw how popular the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best selling book turned out. When she read for the part, she reportedly saw it as "just another audition," thinking that it was not a big deal. After seeing the first movie and how it changed Stewart's life, Lawrence said that she was definitely in awe.
Some fans, however, pointed out that the role of Katniss Everdeen was much more fitting for Lawrence. They held that they could not imagine any other actress to play the part.
Meanwhile, according to Huffington Post, Meyer originally wanted Emily Browning to play the role of Bella Swan. The "Sucker Punch" actress, however, turned down the part.
When asked if she ever regretted her decision, Browning said that everything turned out for the better. Seeing how Stewart and Pattinson get followed by the paparazzi everywhere they go and how they could no longer live normal lives reportedly scared the actress.
Browning said that if she were in Stewart's position she would have had quit acting. She added that she could never handle such a "crazy amount of attention" from both fans and media.
The actress explained that it was "awful" to be surrounded by the paps all the time. She wondered how Stewart was able to keep such a calm demeanor with all the chaos.
