Google has already launched its two new Nexus phones from its Sept. 29 event, and it is more interesting to know more about the Huawei-made Nexus 6P.
Nexus 6P promises high-reaching specs and reasonable price tag for the consumers. It is Google’s new phablet meant to highlight the new tricks in Android 6.0 Marshmallow and it is considered as Google’s best handset to date.
Huawei’s Nexus 6P is powered by Qualcomm's 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, version 2.1. It is paired up with 3GB of RAM, and consumers can choose from 32-, 64-, and 128GB internal storage. The device is run under Android 6.0 Marshmallow, featuring Google Now on Tap, Android Pay support, and Doze function that saves battery life which is 3450 mAh, according to CNET.
Nexus 6P features 5.7-inch WQHD AMOLED display, along with 2560 x 1440 screen resolution and 518 ppi. It has Corning's Gorilla Glass 4 to protect the ultralarge 2K display. Gorilla Glass 4 is a chemically-strengthened glass that helps resist breaks and scratches.
The device measures 6.3 x 3.0 x 0.29 inches and weighs 6.3 ounces. Nexus 6P’s huge and all-metal design has rounded edges and a fingerprint reader at the back. The power/lock and volume buttons are all located on the right spine, and it has stereo forward-facing speakers. The bottom part of the device features a USB-C (also called Type-C) charging port.
It sports a 12MP Sony sensor rear camera, with f/2.0 aperture and IR laser-assisted autofocus, and an 8MP front-facing camera. The cameras support 4K video shoot and capable of capturing slow-motion video. It offers up to 240 frames per second, with editing capabilities. It has an additional smart burst mode to the camera, which captures photos at a rate of 30 frames per second, and burst photos can turn into an animated GIF.
Interested buyers should note that Nexus 6P does not have a microSD support, wireless charging, or optical image stabilization. It comes in Aluminum, Graphite, Frost and Gold colors, BGR reported.
The 32GB version sells at $499.99, 64GB costs $549, and the 128GB version is $649. Consumers from United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Japan can now pre-order Nexus 6P via Google's online store. Google plans to ship the device in more than 30 countries by the end of the year.
