New "Kingdom Hearts 3" details will likely add Marvel and Star Wars characters and a rumored launch date in January 2017.
The launch date for Square Enix's upcoming action-RPG crossover, "Kingdom Hearts 3" has been revealed when someone from Amazon sent out an email to a user, informing him the the game is scheduled to be launched on Jan. 2, 2017 for the Xbox One console, Segment Next reported.
It has been hinted that Square Enix has already decided on a launch date for "Kingdom Hearts 3" during a closed door meeting and it was speculated that the Japanese game publisher will reveal new details at the Tokyo Game Show event two weeks ago; However, Square Enix instead presented a new prequel game called "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" along with its official and expanded English trailer featuring a smalle gameplay for "Kingdom Hearts 3".
"Kingdom Hearts 3's "launch date is still an unsolved mystery as Square Enix did not make any comments regarding the email that Amazon sent, as well as the leaked video of the game launch date the read "Winter 2016" by YouTube username gledson Azevedo.
Aside from the leaked release date, there is still the possibility that Star Wars and Marvel characters are added to "Kingdom Hearts 3" as game director Tetsuya Nomura stated in an interview that they will not revisit the worlds that have already made their appearance in the games, giving room for other Disney worlds to appear in the game such as "Frozen", "Wreck-It Raplh and "Brave".
It was co-director Tai Yasue who first hinted the possibility of having Marvel and Star Wars characters in "Kingdom Hearts 3" knowing that both franchises are owned by Disney and the Kingdom Hearts is a crossover between the latter and Final Fantasy. Yasue stated that having both Marvel and Star Wars characters is still open and under consideration, meaning there is a chance for gamers to see Sora teaming-up with the Avengers or Luke Skywalker in "Kingdom Hearts 3", BreathCast reported.
"Kingdom Hearts 3" will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
