The long wait is finally over as YG Entertainment debut another male group iKON, but it seems that not everyone agrees that the new group live up to the expectations of their waiting fans.

iKON will hold their debut concert "Showtime" on Oct. 3 at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena. The idols released the title tracks of their debut half album on Oct. 1 and will actively promote in the coming weeks in various music programs in South Korea.

YG's new group has become popular thanks to their stints at survival programs "WIN: Who Is Next?" "Mix & Match," and "Show Me The Money 3". Since last year, iKON is one of the most anticipated boy groups.

As promised, iKON will show its prowess after the comeback of their "sunbaes" Bigbang. On Sept. 8, YG Entertainment announced the debut of the group. The company released the group's warm-up single "My Type" that easily achieved an "all-kill" status by dominating Melon, Mnet, Olleh, Bugs, Genie, Naver Music, and Monkey3.

As proof of their stardom, the group topped the iTunes charts in 11 countries with their half album featuring "Rhythm Ta" and "Airplane".

However, not all fans are happy and satisfied with the songs by the new YG group. Some fans expected that the group will debut with powerful hip-hop tracks that will match the members' superb dancing abilities. It seemed that better songs were heard during the survival programs.

Moreover, some fans commented that the B.I. and Bobby overshadowed the rest of the members and newest member Jung Chanwoo received very little parts in the songs.

While fans applauded the group, especially B.I. and Bobby, for writing and composing their own songs, we hoped that YG's veteran producers like Teddy and G-Dragon will gift the group with heart-stopping tracks.

In the sixth episode of "Mix & Match" survival program, Yang Hyun Suk said that iKON is a group that fundamentally focused in hip-hop genre. This is an attribute that set them apart from YG's other group "Winner".

Fans are keeping their fingers crossed that the full album set to arrive on Nov. 1 will include more powerful hip-hop tracks.
