Sony Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua smartphones received the last update of Android 5.1 Lollipop recently.
The two devices were previously running Android 4.4 KitKat. However, the Sony phone company, decided to skip Android 5.0 and go straight with the 5.1 version when they opted for an upgrade.
It is great news to users and they could soon appreciate the improved aspects and capabilities of the Android 5.1 Lollipop, since previously, the Android 4.4 KitKat OS caused a lot of problems to its users.
According to Tech Times, the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS is providing more ways to customize the phone, provide better volume controls, silent modes and alerts. Also, LinkedIn integration will work closely with the calendar app. There will be a connection between the scheduled meetings and the data from the professional social media, everyone's plan will get synchronized for better business performance.
Most importantly, the Android 5.1 Lollipop is taking care of the StageFright vulnerabilty. StageFright vulnerability, previuosly, led hackers into having total total access to users phones using the MMS feature. Well, in the future, Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua will not be vulnerable anymore.
Apart from Xperia M2 and M2 Aqua, other Sony models such as Xperia Z1 Compact, Xpera Z1, Z Ultra, T2 Ultra and C3 are already running on the Android 5.1 update. The update comes at a time when manufactures are slowly getting ready to announce Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates, All Android News reported
The Android 5.1 Lollipop will be released for other Sony devices as well. They will comprise Xperia Z4, Xperia Z3+ Dual, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia ZR, Xperia Tablet Z and Z2.
