Marvel is continuing its TV domination with "Damage Control," a new comedy series in ABC.
The success of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "Agent Carter" has given ABC the confidence to move ahead with a new kind of series, this time dealing with the lighter side of the Marvel Universe.
The series description explains that "Damage Control" will focus on the behind-the-scenes clean-up crew company specifically tasked for the aftermath of superhero battles.
When a wedding gets messed up due to the conflict, Damage Control will rebook everything and re-schedule the event. When a special African parrot is missing due to mysterious circumstances the crew will be on hand for the task, too.
Damage Control will be the heroes behind all the messes that the superheroic community leave behind.
"Damage Control" is based on a late 1980's Marvel comic book series of the same name. The Damage Control company is in charge of clean-up operations as a result of battles between superheroes and super-villains.
The series had three four-part mini-series between 1989 and 1991 as well as a three-issue limited series in the 2000's titled "World War Hulk Aftersmash: Damage Control."
The series' executive producers are Ben Karlin of "The Daily Show" and "Modern Family," David Miner, and Jeph Loeb, Marvel's television head. Karlin also developed the series which will be produced by both ABC and Marvel TV.
Aside from "Damage Control," Marvel has a new series in the pipeline. Adrianne Palicki stars as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird alongside Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter in the upcoming series "Marvel's Most Wanted."
