Apple could be developing a smaller device referred to as the Apple Ring. A patent application was filed last week and Marcos Regis Vescosi and Marcel Van Os have been credited as the inventors of the Apple Ring.
Apple Ring will be designed to be worn on the index finger and will be controlled with the thumb. It will be linked to an external device such as an iPhone and will feature a touchpad or touchscreen.
According to the patent, Apple Ring will be a safer, discreet and more ergonomic device to be used. The Ring will control phones and any other electronic over Bluetooth. This device will receive information in form of messages or images just like any other existing device.
The Apple Ring will have biometrics sensors that will sense biometric information for transmitting purposes. The device will include dial control for input purposes and a wireless circuit for recharging power, Tech Times reported.
Another interesting feature is that the device will have a microphone that is electrically connected to the computer and configured to recognize as well as respond to the command voice of the user The Verge reported. Also, it will include one or more processors, memory, programs and module. The memory will have a set of instructions and will perform various functions generating a graphical user interface (GUI)
If the patent will come into fruition, it will clearly be more portable and less destructive than any other device like smartwatch. However, Apple has been known to file many patent applications and the proposed products will not make it into the fanatic's hands. All enthusiasts can do is wait and see if the Apple Ring will become a reality.
