It is important to note that an over-the-air update for each of these devices will come very soon. The company's update process for Nexuses normally happens in waves.

Meanwhile, HTC is planning to update One M8 and One M9 by the end of 2015. Also, according to several reports, the Android Marshmallow update will come to the 2014 Moto Turbo, the 2014 Moto MAXX, Moto X Pure, the 2015 Moto G and Moto X Style.

The update will bring many new features and improvements. Some of the features include a context-sensitive extension of Android's Google Now voice command,  upgraded power management through the new Doze Mode and new app permission controls.

Also, the apps menu has been improved. Users will be able to uninstall particular stock apps. The newest operating system will have Android Pay. The payment service can be used through Android handsets with KitKat 4.4+ operating system and near-field communication (NFC) technology, GottaBeMobile reported. According to Google, it could be used at stores operated by firms such as Staples, GameStop and Aeropostale.

Android Pay will support debit cards and credit cards on payment networks of MasterCard, Discover Financial Services and American Express and cards issued by US Bank and Bank of America.
