Officially, LG has a single 2015 flagship - the LG G4 - but if the Google Nexus 5X, which the company assembled, counts then it will be two hero phones for the South Korean device maker. But a third LG smartphone is likely on the way and rumors say it will be unveiled as the LG G4 Pro or the LG V10.
There are reports too that indicate LG intends to label its new device as the LG G4 Note since it will compete directly with the Galaxy Note 5 and right out of the box the G4 Note will rock a stylus like its Samsung phablet rival.
Regardless of the actual name, the LG G4 Pro appears to be an improvement from the regular G4 and thanks to a recent GFXBench document obtained by Fone Arena a clear and impressive picture of the device seems to be shaping up. And it looks like that the G4 Pro is designed to upend both the LG G4 and the Google Nexus 5X.
Here are the reasons why:
5.7-inch QHD display
From the 5.2-inch screen of the Nexus 5X, which reportedly was patterned after the LG Nexus 5, and the 5.5-inch LG G4, LG upsized the G4 Pro screen profile to 5.7-inch to assume a definitive phablet form and dwarf over its siblings, Fone Arena reported.
The Quad HD specification also means that the G4 Pro is the better device when screen really matters for buyers.
4GB of RAM
The Nexus 5X came with 2GB of RAM while the LG G4 boasts of 3GB. For the G4 Pro, the RAM provision is a high of 4GB that likely will "help alleviate any minor stuttering or lag experienced with the non-pro model," 9to5Google said in a report.
Technically speaking, the LG G4 Pro will outperform its older brothers in the multitasking arena.
But for the most part, what's inside of the LG G4 Pro is nearly identical with that of the LG G4 - a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip and likely an Adreno 418 GPU. The device will also carry over the regular G4's shooting combo 16MP on rear and 5MP on front.
According to Fone Arena, the LG G4 Pro will unbox with 64GB of internal memory and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but it cannot be discounted that the phone will be the first LG flagship to flash Android 6.0 Marshmallow on its rumored October release date.
