The relations between China and the United States is on the right track as the latest state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping has paved way to deals, which when implemented could push forward the healthy and stable development of the bilateral ties of the two nations.
This statement is according to State Councilor Yang Jiechi, who spoke during the Beijing visit of U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Yang said that the leaders of the two countries are heading in the right direction, adding that Xi's visit has greatly impacted the cooperation between China and the U.S. in terms of bilateral, regional and global issues.
Last month, Xi acknowledged the invitation of U.S. President Barack Obama and visited the country. The two have inked vital agreements on various fields such as economics, science and technology, agriculture, trade, law enforcement, infrastructure and cybersecurity.
For Blinken, Xi's successful visit has shown to the global community that the U.S. and China can enhance their relations and cooperation on a number of globally important issues.
Blinken added that the U.S. would like to join hands with China to implement the deals made by the two leaders.
Prior to his Beijing visit, Blinken also took a trip to Japan and to the Republic of Korea. His last stop was China where he met with government officials to tackle a range of regional and bilateral issues.
In a news release from the U.S. State Department, Blinken "will discuss the next steps in the U.S.-China engagement and areas for cooperation on global challenges, as well as exchange views on bilateral and regional issues."
