There are reports that Samsung has started testing the Android Marshmallow update for Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 LTE-A, Galaxy S5 Neo, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 5.
According to Sam Mobile, this is not a comprehensive list and more devices will be added to it, as Samsung tests them for Android Marshmallow compatibility.
It may be possible that some devices will need to wait until 2016 for the Android Marshmallow update. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is expected to get the Android Marshmallow upgrade by December.
Android Marshmallow will come with new features like the support for Android Pay and also the USB Type-C connector, according to GSM Arena. It is also equipped with personalized Chrome tabs, a RAM Manager, and also a Network Reset Option.
Android Marshmallow will also make the home screen rotatable and enhance the enumeration support of the device. It will also introduce a new API Level 23 in the smart phones along with the introduction of enhanced emergency call options in the device. The update will come with a lot of improvements for the current Android features.
Android Marshmallow will be released as an over the air update with the size of the upgrade is rumored to be more than 500 MB. It will be prompted on the home screen of the device. To check for this update manually, the users can follow the steps as: Go to the Home Menu> Select Settings > Choose About device > Check for Software Update.
