The upcoming episode of "Scandal" season 5 will feature Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) teaming up with Rowan Pope (Joe Morton).

In season 4, Olivia Pope's dad almost had Jake killed, so it's quite surprising for fans that the two will work together.

According to IBTimes, Jake reaching out to Rowan somewhat signifies that he's desperate in his attempts to take down an even bigger enemy.

There are rumors that Cornelius Smith Jr.'s returning character Marcus will be the two men's newest enemy.

A few months back, it was confirmed that Smith Jr. has been tapped for a recurring role on the hit ABC series.

Meanwhile, "Dog-Whistle Politics" will also focus on Olivia's attempts at trying to stay away from the media.

Just recently, she confirmed her affair with President Fitzgerald Grant (Tony Goldwyn), and this has led the people of the United States to call her "America's Mistress."

In the episode, Huck (Guillermo Diaz) and Quinn (Katie Lowes) will help Olivia handle her media-related problems. However, the task wouldn't be easy for them.

Fans are also excited to see how Quinn and Huck will work together, especially since the former almost killed the latter in season 4.

"Scandal" season 5 will continue to focus on President Fitz's desire to divorce from Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young), and the latter's eagerness to make sure it won't happen.

Fans of Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) will also be pleased to know that he's officially back, and he's ready to take down Olivia and President Fitz.

"Scandal" season 5 airs Thursday nights on ABC.
