The mobile carrier Verizon Wireless has announced new prepaid data plans for hotspot and tablet users.

The plans are particularly aimed at hardcore data users who want to be connected to the Internet all the time or business travelers who want to keep connected while on the road.

Verizon said in its blog post that consumers can now choose from five new prepaid data plans, designed to get them connected quicker and easier with no credit checks, no annual contract and no strings attached.

Plans

10GB for $100/2 months
5GB for $60/2 months
2GB for $35/2 months
1GB for $20/month
500MB for $15/week

Furthermore, consumers have the option to enroll in Auto Pay, which keeps the account going without worry, or they can buy data when they want it and when they require it. Verizon said that there is no compulsion to pay each month. Now, consumers can replenish data on their handsets, online at My Verizon.

Verizon is also planning to increase the cost of grandfathered unlimited data plans from $29.99 to $49.99 every month, The Next Web reported. The unlimited data is part of a mobile phone bill. Texting and talking are extra. According to reports, less than 1% of consumers still have unlimited data.

The mobile carrier said that the consumers should see higher bills beginning November 15 or later. The company does not appear to be worried about a mass exodus. A Verizon spokesman said that If they charge a little more, but they are providing an extremely good service, consumers don't mind that.
