South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics unveiled and launched the Galaxy J2 smartphone in the Indian market in September, and is now reportedly preparing to unveil its successor, the Galaxy J3 (SM-J3109), after the new phone recently appeared in benchmark tests at Geekbench and GFXbench.
The Samsung Galaxy J3 will be the latest addition to the Galaxy J series family. It is expected to come with improved specs over its predecessor, the Galaxy J2.
The upcoming smartphone will sport a larger 5.0-inch display screen with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It will have an 8 mega pixel rear-facing camera and a 5 mega pixel front-facing camera.
Inside, the Samsung Galaxy J3 will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64bit Quad core processor along with an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit. In addition, it will come with 1GB of RAM and up to 8GB of expandable built-in memory storage. It's still unclear how large the battery will be.
The Galaxy J3 is anticipated to run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop version operating system (OS). Other features include an accelerometer, GPS, NFC capability, and support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, according to GFXBench.
As of this time, there's still no word on how much the Samsung Galaxy J3 is going to cost exactly, and when it's going to be available in the market, Phone Arena reported.
In comparison with its predecessor, the Galaxy J2 sports a smaller 4.7-inch display screen with a lower 540 x 960 pixel resolution. The Galaxy J2 comes with a 5 mega pixel camera on the back and a 2 mega pixel camera on the front.
