GTA 5 gamers may not be getting a promised Halloween DLC anytime soon as a new report says that the upcoming content expansion is nothing but a hoax. Rockstar, however, remains on track to release online updates soon.
Packed with new cars, clothes and new weapons, the GTA 5 Halloween DLC was billed as Rockstar's holiday treat to its patrons but iDigitalTimes smelled something fishy about the advertised update. For one, the game maker seems totally not part of the planned new content. Rockstar is silent on the matter and the company is not even carrying the reported Download banner of the upcoming DLC, the report added.
Then a closer look on the same banner would show that the screenshot was that of the GTA 5 Business DLC. It would be strange on Rockstar's part not exert effort and tease its new Halloween contents with the appropriate and newly created images, the publication noted.
And the most telling giveaway is the Halloween DLC appears to be geared only for the Sony PlayStation 4. If legitimate, the content should also include the Microsoft Xbox One.
So it's definitely a hoax, iDigitalTimes concluded but it doesn't follow that GTA 5 gamers will be deprived of something new to get excited with following the recently issued GTA 5 Freemode Events DLC. It is a given that an update is forthcoming, it's just a question of when it is exactly happening and what are the gifts that Rockstar will unwrap soon.
According to Express.co.uk, Rockstar has confirmed that it has "a full team working on GTA Online updates." Still, the actual timing of the update arrival remains a big question mark.
But the same report indicated that the highlight of the planned content boost is the multiplayer mode.
