Taylor Swift is on the cover of GQ's November issue. The "Wildest Dream" singer just had her "realest" interview to date and talks about her feud with Katy Perry.
In the interview, Swift may have just admitted that she just made up the fight with Perry to boost the interest for "Bad Blood." The pop star revealed that she tried to distract the Rolling Stone interviewer when she was asked about who "Bad Blood" was written for.
She said that she did not want fans to think that it was written for one of her ex-boyfriends, adding that she did not want his family and fans to think that she was "firing shots at him."
In the end, she decided to say that her new song was just about "losing a friend." Swift insisted that she did not mean for anyone to get hurt by it, encouraging fans to listen to the song again, saying that she did not mention names or reveal any of the specifics.
She pointed out that people are going to think that the song was for a specific person and she just did what she just have to do to "divert them away from the easiest target."
Chuck Klosterman of GQ, however, called Swift out on the "few molecules of bullshit" in her statement. The author pointed out that Swift forgot to mention that she also told the reporter that the song was inspired by a recent business conflict with her friend, wherein the other singer tried to sabotage her concert by hiring her dancers.
"In order to abort the possibility of a rumor she did not want, she propagated the existence of a different rumor that offered the added value of making the song more interesting," Klosterman wrote.
