"Yes, I hate him. I would run him over with my car if there wasn't a law against it."
Those were the blunt, fighting words of not just the first American to win gold at the World Judo Championships; but also the mother of UFC Women's Bantamweight titleholder, Ronda Rousey.
Dr. AnnMaria De Mars sounded off on her daughter's head trainer, Edmund Tarverdyan, whom she called a "bad person" and a "terrible coach."
De Mars spoke to LatiNation to share a piece of her mind and - in a way - call out the Glendale Fighting Club head.
"I will tell you this: every time I go in his gym, he used to say, 'How are you?' And I'd say, 'How the [expletive] do you think I am? I'm in your [expletive] gym and I [expletive] hate you!'"
Apparently, the 57-year-old's hatred toward Tarverdyan stemmed from numerous reasons. And in an interview with Rhadi Ferguson on Pro MMA Now, De Mars explained that it was the coach's blatant disrespect to women that angered her the most.
"If you read in Ronda's book, you know when she walked into his gym she had been a junior world gold medalist, Olympic medalist, world medalist in judo and he didn't give her the time of day."
She continued: "And he has had that exact same pattern with many women in the gym and I have seen it with my own eyes where they train there and it's basically a waste of their time. And they're talked to in a way that just makes my jaw drop."
Furthermore, De Mars exposed how Tarverdyan is using her UFC Champion daughter to promote GFC and lure fighters in the gym.
"All I did was say publicly what people have been whispering for years, but no one had the balls to speak up, because Edmund is like that gatekeeper to Ronda. It's just nauseating."
After these recent developments between AnnMaria De Mars and Edmund Tarverdyan, it's interesting to see how - or will it ever - affect Rousey's training at GFC.
On November 14, Ronda Rousey will put her UFC Women's Bantamweight belt on the line against Holly Holm in the main event of UFC 193 at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia.
