According to latest reports, the electronics maker LG has declared the roll out of Android Marshmallow to its handsets, beginning with the LG G4 smartphone.
Starting next week, the owners of LG G4 in Poland will begin getting the Android Marshmallow update, CNET reported. After that, LG G4 owners in the United States, Asia and Europe will get the latest Android update.
Android Marshmallow operating system comes with many new enhancements and features such as Android for Work improvements, quick translation of text, improved fingerprint sensing and advanced app permission controls.
Chris Yie of LG Mobile Communications Company said that by working closely with the tech giant, Google, they have been able to bring Android Marshmallow update to the LG G4 ahead of any of their rivals, BGR reported.
Yie further said that while speed alone is not an indicator of good service, it does go a long way toward giving customers the confidence that the company is committed to its existing consumers first.
The company will announce Android Marshmallow upgrade schedule and list of affected models in individual markets.
The search giant disclosed the Marshmallow moniker in August, and launched it in September with the release of its new Nexus smartphones - Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
According to several reports, older Nexus handsets have got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow1` update.
The electronics manufacturer Sony has indicated that it will make the Android Marshmallow update available on 14 Xperia hansets. However, availability and timing will vary by mobile operator and market. Also, the company has yet to announce the rollout dates.
