Vin Diesel has recently let slip that "XXX 3" has a new director; however, the production schedule for the date has not been set yet because of Diesel's schedule for "Fast and Furious 8" and its scheduled release date.
Diesel was found saying that "Disturbia" Director D.J. Caruso will be in charge of the third "XXX" film in a recent interview with iO9.
The main issue of Diesel for filling Xander Cage's role in "XXX 3" has to do with his time as Dominic Toretto in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, according to Entertainment Weekly.
In "Fast and Furious," Diesel portrays Dominic Toretto, a street racer and former convict. Reports say he is determined to continue the series in honor of Paul Walker.
Diesel is excited about the production and has been teasing the release of "XXX 3" since 2008, but his plans aren't firm, especially with the fact that "Fast and Furious 8" already has a schedule release date of April 14, 2017.
"XXX" began back in 2002, with Diesel in the lead role as NSA agent and Rob Cohen, the director of "Fast and Furious" behind the camera. A sequel of this film was released in 2005, starring Ice Cube and did not include Diesel.
According to Diesel, "XXX" is a film where an actor can have fun. When the weight and pressures of other characters are too much, then a character like Xander can add to the fun.
Diesel's next film is "The Last Witch Hunter" that is scheduled to hit the theaters on Oct. 23.
