The fun never stops for Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. as gamers find new ways to enjoy the brawl. While the wait continues on the new DLC characters that will jump in - latest rumors points to the adorable Inklings from Splatoon - the smashing was spotted as a board game, specifically a customized BattleCON card slugfest.
Super Smash fan Aljo Martinez shared the progress on his BattleCON version of the game, which according to Nintendo Life is comprised of four exciting characters namely Mario, Bowser, Rosalina and Link. And they are not of the virtual kind, instead physically represented by Amiibo figurines.
The other key elements include "redesigned bases, a portable board and some life trackers," the report said, adding that the latter is easily downloadable. And it is a work in progress so it will continue to evolve and leave Smashers with something to be busy about on the side while on the guessing game of what the next Super Smash DLC is all about.
The whispers now center on the characters that Nintendo will debut next. The Shovel Knight is among the most mentioned, having a strong fan base due to its Wii U and 3DS presence but if Gamnesia is to be believed the next brawler will likely be sourced from Splatoon.
That would be the Inklings as Gamnesia pointed out that the rumored addition seems to fit the bill, if the basis would be the presently circulating rumors. The Inklings were not part of the recently concluded Smash ballot and if they will be joining the game their status will definitely be as newbies.
In addition, reports say the upcoming Smash Bros. DLC characters destined to generate significant hype and potentially a big deal to the incessantly exploding Super Smash community. The strongest candidate that fit the hints dropped so far - the Inklings, according to Gamnesia.
But as it is, the Inklings remain as rumors and only Nintendo has the last say on what exactly the upcoming Super Smash Bros. DLC is or are going to be. And the release date of which is still the subject of a wild guessing game.
