JYP Entertainment new girl group Twice finally debuted three months after the girls' stint in survival program.
JYPE seems to be trying to gain its former dominance in the Kpop scene with a series of comebacks to its veteran artists and debut of its new groups, including rock band Day6 and girl group Twice.
Earlier this year, JYPE artists 2PM, Miss A, and Wonder Girls held their respective comebacks. The singles reached the number one spot in various music showcases.
Last month, JYPE debuted Day6 that offers another face of the company in forming a new type of group it has never done before. The group appeared in a segment of "WIN: Who Is Next" when YG trainees battled with JYP trainees.
The group released the single "Congratulations" as part of its album "The Day".
A little over a month, JYPE debuted Twice - a nine-member girl group. The girls appeared in survival program, "Sixteen," before their debut alongside other female trainees in May. Originally, the group is supposed to be composed of seven members, but the company decided to add two more members. The group already has a lot of fans.
Twice released the single "Ooh Ahh" as part of their album "The Story Begins". The music video of the single reached almost two million views, according to All Kpop.
Day6 and Twice, alongside GOT7, are part of the new generation of JYPE artists that the producers have high hopes for.
In the past, JYPE became one of the top entertainment companies in South Korea as its artists, Rain and Wonder Girls, became international icons. The company also debuted successful artists like 2PM, 2AM and Miss A.
