Alcatel announced in September that it is working on a new smartphone that will run on the Windows 10 platform. Less than a month after the announcement, a new set of leak provided the first images of the upcoming smartphone dubbed Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL.
According to Phone Arena, despite Alcatel's announcement that the phone will run on the Windows 10 mobile platform, there are indications that the phone can also run the Android operating system. While this sounds strange for some, those who are well acquainted with the tech community knows that this is not the first phone to run on different operating systems.
The leak came from the notorious leaker Evan Blass who uses the Twitter handle to @evleaks. It was also on his Twitter page that he posted the images of Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL. Blass posted both models running on the Android and Windows operating system. The two models looks identically the same with only slight difference on the bottom part where the default navigation buttons are located.
Both the Windows 10 and Android version of the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL will have the same specs. The smartphone sports 5.5-inch display with 720p resolution. Both will is powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. Additional specs include 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage space. The phone will have two cameras; an 8-megapixel rear facing camera and a 2-megapixel front facing one. The smartphone is also believed to support LTE connectivity.
Alcatel has yet to confirm the official pricing of the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL, although many tech experts predict that it should be within the mid-tier pricing range. According to 9to5Google, the smartphone will be launched in the United States under the T-Mobile banner.
