The Oakland Raiders (2-3) started the season strong but had lost two consecutive games as of late. They now visit the San Diego Chargers (2-4) at the Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday for an AFC West matchup in Week 7.
Oakland seems to be in good hands with second-year quarterback Derek Carr as he continues to progress game after game. In Week 5, they almost beat top team Denver Broncos but succumbed in the end, 16-10, because of a late interception return from cornerback Chris Harris Jr, via Heavy.
Meanwhile, the Chargers have also lost two straight following their win over Cleveland on Week 4. Their last match was a 27-20 setback in the hands of the undefeated Green Bay Packers at the Lambeau Field last Sunday, as per CBS Sports.
The Raiders will have to concentrate their defense on San Diego's passing game to have a chance at winning. In their last match, Philip Rivers threw a franchise record 43-of-65 for 503 yards and that's a lot for a single game. Safeties Charles Woodston and Larry Asante will have their work cut out for them.
The Chargers have a very good passing defense which will force Carr to make turnovers so expect a low-scoring game where Oakland will prevail.
Prediction: Raiders win, 17-14.
