Fossil has announced a line of smart accessories called the Fossil Q and they are all powered by Android.
There are four watches in the line that vary in level of technological advancement and price. It includes two smartwatches, Q Founder and Q Grant, and two fitness bands, Q Reveler and Q Dreamer.
The Android Wear-powered Q Founder that becomes the flagship for Fossil will include an Intel processor and starts at $275, according to The Verge. It comes with all the technology from Android Wear, including notifications from the phone and customizable watch faces. It also ties into a special app that both keeps tabs on fitness and promotes curiosity, a reminder to shake up your routine. Fossil says it will be available in time for the holiday shopping season.
It works with both iPhones and Android devices. Users can view notifications on their wrist for things such as calls, text messages, emails and calendar events. They can also get personalized Google cards with information on weather, sporting events, traffic and more. However, it does not include Bluetooth range of the smartphone or connected to Wi-Fi for complete functionality.
On the other hand, Q Grant connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth and can be customized to show the notifications such as email, news, texts or phone calls via LED lights and vibration. Plus, the Grant can track fitness activities. It will be available on Oct. 25 within the price range of $175 to $195.
The Q Reveler and Q Dreamer, two fitness trackers, are designed for men and women, respectively. Both offer fitness tracking and LED notifications from the smartphone phone, CNET reported. However, the Dreamer has two options: leather and silicone band that users can switch from work-out mode to date-night mode. They will be available on Oct. 25 as well for $125.
