Xbox One and PS4 gamers should have their first crack on Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Syndicate this October 23 but already the title is reportedly getting major patches with one of the rumored Day One bumps to pack a heavyset 18GB file size.
The game patches are indeed set to be delivered on the same day that Syndicate will launch but according to game developer Ubisoft the 18GB update is nothing but a rumor. What will be deployed actually are patches 1.10 and 1.11 with combined weight of just over 1GB, iDigitalTimes reported.
"Not sure where 18GB came from ... neither of the patches you will need to download are anywhere near that big," the online publication reported Gabe Graziani, a Ubisoft community developer, as saying.
Setting the rumors aside, the Assassin's Creed Syndicate is accompanied by a Season Pass that Ubisoft is the ticker for gamers to access the Syndicate DLCs that will unbox with the game on launch day as well as the upcoming downloadable contents.
Confirmed to be bundled with the Season Pass, which is purchased separately, is the Jack The Ripper DLC that is set for release in December. This mission, iDigitalTimes said, will be preceded by the A Long Night and The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy DLCs that Assassin's Creed fans can readily access following their purchase of the Syndicate installment on day one
Slated as an early 2016 DLC is The Last Maharaja mission pack along with the Steampunk and Victorian Legend weapon packs. The same Syndicate Season Pass is the key for gamers to unlock the XP boost for their Assassin's Creed characters, such Jacob and Evie who are the heroes in The Dreadful Crimes mission.
All these goodies are packed as a wholesale option for Assassin's Creed fans on PS4, iDigitalTimes said, adding that PC and Xbox One players are limited to touching on two missions only on release day of Syndicate.
In a related report, BGR is saying in a review that Syndicate is proving to be the best in the series so far, easily outperforming its predecessors such as Unity, Revelations and Rogue. One thing to look forward to is when the Rope Launcher gets unlocked.
"Being able to zip up to the top of a building in an instant completely changes how you approach fights and how quickly you can get around the enormous map of London," the review said.
As mentioned, Day One or release date of Assassin's Creed Syndicate is October 23, that is today, but only Xbox One and PS4 gamers are their fix as Ubisoft will not issue the PC version until November 19.
