Ending the month-long speculation, HBO has confirmed the death of a major character from "Game Of Thrones."
In a statement released by the network, it is confirmed that Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane), who was last seen about to be killed by Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie), is actually dead.
Since the actual killing was not shown on screen, fans were expecting the return of Stannis owing to the show's notorious nature of frequently bringing back the dead characters.
"Stannis was killed outside of Winterfell by Brienne of Tarth, who wished to avenge the Renly's death," reads the final line on the passage of Stannis in HBO's new book "Game of Thrones: The Noble Houses of Westeros Seasons 1-5."
Meanwhile, Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) is set to make a comeback in "Game Of Thrones" season 6. The news has been confirmed by the actress herself, who further claimed during an interview with British Comedy Guide that she will be filming her scenes for the show very soon in Northern Ireland.
Meanwhile, newly leaked pictures from the sets of the hit fantasy series prompted wild speculation about the upcoming season, The Week reported. In the leaked image, Emilia Clarke, Natalie Dormer and Lena Headey, who play Daenerys Targaryen, Margaery Tyrell and Cersei Lannister respectively, are seen standing together in full costume.
The emergence of the pic has triggered the rumor that Khaleesi, the dragon mother, will finally cross the Narrow Sea and arrive in Westeroes to take over the iron throne in season 6.
While some fans are suggesting that the pic is the biggest spoiler of "Game Of Thrones" ever, it is also pointed out by many that the three lead actresses might be on a break together while filming or just doing a photo shoot for the promotion when they got clicked by an enthusiastic fan.
