Although both teams are currently struggling to have breakout games this season, a highly-anticipated NFC West matchup between the San Francisco 49ers (2-5) and St. Louis Rams (3-3) is set at the Edward Jones Dome this Sunday as the NFL 2015 season continues.
Following their big win against the Baltimore Ravens the week before, the Niners fell flat against a tough Russell Wilson and his Seattle Seahawks, 20-3, on October 22 to come plunging back to the ground, as reported by USA Today.
Unsurprisingly, quarterback Colin Kaepernick was badly outplayed by Wilson as he threw 13-of-24 for 124 yards, zero touchdowns, no interceptions, and six sacks for a miserable 9.0 QBR and 68.8 rating.
Meanwhile, rookie running back Todd Gurley had a superb performance in the team's 24-6 pounding of the Cleveland Browns last Sunday also at their home stadium, as per Yahoo Sports.
The 10th overall pick of the 2015 draft rushed for 128 yards over 19 carries and had two touchdowns to lead the cause for Jeff Fishers' boys.
With the Niners' poor passing defense this season, expect the Rams to rely more on quarterback Nick Foles aerial plays as much as on their newly-found scoring machine, Gurley.
Prediction: Rams win, 21-14.
